SCALEWAY ON DEMAND

SCALEWAY INTERLINK

Scaleway InterLink provides private and reliable network connectivity to Scaleway across a dedicated private connection – allowing customers to bypass the public internet.

Colt supports Scaleway Self-Hosted Interlink (dedicated ports) on the On Demand platform.

Dedicated ports allow customers to establish multiple BGP peerings towards Scaleway. On Demand circuit connections can be established in near real time, but a physical cross connect is required between the Scaleway Self-Hosted Interlink and the Colt network.

Scaleway Self-Hosted InterLink dedicated ports support multiple BGP peerings with Scaleway.

Dedicated ports are the best Scaleway InterLink solution where a customer needs to establish multiple peerings with Scaleway at the same physical location.

Customers will need to first request a dedicated port via the Scaleway subscription, taking care to select the correct Scaleway InterLink region and Scaleway Self-Hosted Interlink PoP.

A Letter of Authority (LOA) is then generated within the Scaleway console (which should be uploaded to the On Demand portal when ordering the On Demand ports at the Cloud PoP location).

Customers can request a standard On Demand port at the Cloud PoP location and request a standard cross connect via the OD portal (required to attach the Scaleway Self-Hosted InterLink LOA to the cross connect order). Once the request has been placed, Colt’s delivery team will arrange for the cross connect between the Colt On Demand port and the Scaleway router using the information provided within the LOA. The typical lead time for the cross connect is 5 working days.

Customers have to create a connection between the port at the customer and the port at the cloud PoP location towards the Scaleway Self-Hosted InterLink dedicated ports.

The following VLAN modes apply at the cloud PoP location / Scaleway B end (i.e. dedicated port end), summarised in the below table:

Description

Open port

Scaleway Self-Hosted InterLink dedicated port mapped to a single circuit connection

Port based handover, all Scaleway Self-Hosted InterLink VLANs are passed transparently across the Colt network to the B end port Customer is responsible for allocating VLANs via the Scaleway Console (Filter VLAN option at A end site not supported)

Under the dedicated port model, Scaleway does not impose any bandwidth on VLANs – they are dynamically scaled.

The standard port VLAN modes apply at the customer A end site.

The customer journey to establish end to end connectivity to an Scaleway Self-Hosted Interlink dedicated port is illustrated below. Note that the LOA must be requested for the correct Scaleway InterLink Region and Scaleway InterLink Cloud PoP associated with that region.
