ORACLE FASTCONNECT

ORACLE FASTCONNECT HOSTED PORTS

To create a new Oracle FastConnect connection, customers first need to create a FastConnect service via the Oracle Cloud portal.

The following information needs to be entered:

SELECT PROVIDER

Select “Oracle Provider” and then “Colt DCA”.

SELECT DOMAIN

Select a “Private/Public” domain.

ENTER BANDWIDTH

Enter the FastConnect port bandwidth (1G-10G).

ENTER ROUTING

Enter the BGP routing details.

Once the FastConnect service has been created, customers will be assigned a Service Key – this will be required to create a cloud port in the Colt On Demand portal.

FastConnect hosted services are handed over on a shared NNI between Colt and Oracle.

CONNECTIONS TO ORACLE FASTCONNECT HOSTED PORTS

Connections to Oracle FastConnect ports are based on a 1:1 circuit connection to hosted port mapping. The cloud B end configuration is always based on single 802.1Q VLAN* – this is automatically configured when the default “Cloud VLAN” option is selected. * The Ethertype is 8100, although this is not visible to customers

The standard VLAN modes apply at the customer A end port, which are summarised in the table below:

Add VLAN	Customer uses single tagged VLAN to map traffic	VLAN added on egress, towards customer (in translation mode). VLAN can be S-VLAN (88a8) or C-VLAN (8100). Standard H&S config. VLAN contains three “inner” VLANs. Customer needs to map inner VLANs to “outer” tag

FASTCONNECT DEDICATED PORTS

Connections to 1Gbps & 10Gbps FastConnect dedicated ports can be supported via a standard DCNet On Demand port – providing a DC cross connect is requested via the On Demand portal (the Oracle LOA should be attached to the cross connect request).

Oracle have integrated Colt’s On Demand ordering into the OCI platform. You can now seamlessly connect to your Oracle Cloud services, without leaving the OCI portal.
